DanStem Seminar by Wieland B. Huttner

Wieland B. Huttner, Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics

Title: Human-specific genes, neural stem cell amplification and neocortex expansion in development and human evolution.

The lab's goal is to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the evolutionary expansion of the neocortex, specifically the increase in the number of cortical neurons generated during embryonic/fetal development. Ultimately, they aim at identifying the genomic changes that are responsible for the increase in neuron number in the human neocortex as compared to other primates.

All are welcome. Registration is not needed.
