Job opportunity: Laboratory Assistant to the Semb group
Hourly paid position
We are looking for a responsible and thorough lab assistant to assist the group's researchers and laboratory technician in the following practical task: Genotyping of mice by DNA purification, PCR and gel electrophores is following routine protocols.
The Danish Stem Cell Center (DanStem) at Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is looking for an hourly paid laboratory assistant to join the Semb group starting at March 1st 2016 or upon agreement.
DanStem comprises of two sections: The Novo Nordisk Foundation Section for Basic Stem Cell Biology, where we address basic research questions in stem cell and developmental biology (BasicStem). The second Section for Strategic Translational Stem Cell Research and Therapy (TransStem) is focused on the translation of promising basic research results into new strategies and targets for the development of new therapies for cancer and diabetes. We are looking for a responsible and thorough lab assistant to assist the group's researchers and laboratory technician in the following practical task:
Genotyping of mice by DNA purification, PCR and gel electrophores is following routine protocols.
The working week is about 10 hours during normal working hours.
The position is for 1 year.
- It is an advantage if you are a science or medical student.
- It is an advantage if you have experience with laboratory work, preferably PCR
- It is an advantage if you have an interest in biomedical research
- You are service minded and can work systematically and thoroughly, keeping track of many samples.
-You are communicative and work well as part of a team
-You have good language skills in Danish and English
Employment of the laboratory assistant will be in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees - governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and HK-STAT (Danish Technician Association).
