Open position: Laboratory Manager
We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to have the first line responsibility regarding the laboratory organization and administration.
We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to have the first line responsibility regarding the laboratory organization and administration. The Laboratory Manager will report to the Managing Director Professor Henrik Semb. The successful candidate will also coordinate tasks in close collaboration with other PIs, the Platform Specialists, and the Center Administration.
Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager are: Coordination, maintenance, and approvals - coordinate the work with the PIs, to ensure that the needs of all research groups are being supported with regard to e.g. equipment installations, laboratory consumables supplies, and add new equipment to the asset register - coordinate the work schedule of student helpers, and liaise with laboratory technicians/assistants from each group to maintain the function and safety of the laboratories. - ensure that procedures used and the equipment/space provided adheres to protocols and legislation. - register new GMO laboratories, assist PIs when applying, e.g., GMO projects, method dispensation, to the Danish authority of occupational health and safety, and communicate with the authority. - register and maintain the chemical data in the University’s chemical database (Kemibrug) - handling of the chemical and biological waste according to the Danish occupational health and safety legislation.
