DanStem Seminar by Marino Zerial, March 18, 2015

Prof. Marino Zerial, Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany.

Marino Zerial research the principles of cell and tissue organization, from endocytosis to a systems understanding of liver structure and function. His group's vision is to develop a systems understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying cell and tissue organization. Over the years, they have been studying the molecular mechanisms of endocytosis, unravelling the key role played by Rab GTPases and their effectors.

This work has led them to demonstrate that Rab5 is a master regulator of early endosome biogenesis. they have recently conducted a systems biology analysis by genome-wide RNAi screening in HeLa cells and in C. elegans, using quantitative multi-parametric image analysis (QMPIA).

Title: 'Multi-scale analysis of cell and liver tissue organization'

Time: 18 March 2015, 12:00
Place: CPR Seminar room Panum Building 6, 2nd floor
