Poster Award to Aliaksandr Dzementsei from the Ober Group

award

The poster prize was awarded at the recent EMBO/EMBL Symposium, Heidelberg, Germany, 12 - 15 July 2017.

EMBO/EMBL symposium held in Heidelberg, Germany, 12-15 July 2017 aimed to unite the field of mechanobiology, by bringing together world-leading experts in the generation and sensing of forces from the molecular scale to the organismal scale. An important emphasis was given to the combination of physics and computer modelling with molecular genetics and live-imaging in vitro or in vivo.

Aliaksandr DzementseiAliaksandr awarded poster describes a collaborative project with Younes Farhangi Barooji and Lene Oddershede, StemPhys partners from the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. Together they have developed a non-invasive assay to quantitatively study biophysical properties of organ progenitor cells in the embryo using optical trapping of nano-sized particles.

EMBO | EMBL Symposia promote scientific communication and collaboration in the European research area.

The work was conducted at the Ober Lab, DanStem.
