SmartPhone meets Zebrafish - Fascinating images arise

The free  Science in the City Festival opened on Saturday, June 21 and many visitors came by the Stem Cell exhibition to experience an exclusive glimpse Into the Body of, among other things, the Zebrafish.

Click on the picture below and see a video of a 2-3 day old transparent Zebrafish. The short video is made with a homemade SmartPhone microscopes which basically involves a lens from an old laser pointer, some plexiglas, nuts and bolts, superglue and a SmartPhone. Guide on how to make your own microscope The exhibition is open until June 26, 2014. You are most welcome to come by the Festival and try the microscope yourself, hear more about the connection between zebrafish, stem cell research and many other fascinating things.

The exhibition on stem cells has been made in collaboration with EuroStemCell and is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences exhibition A journey  Into the Body.

Saturday & Sunday, June 21-22: 11:00 – 18:00
Monday – Thursday, June 23 – 26: 13:00 – 18:00 (except Thursday, where the exhibition closes at 16:00)
