The Scientific Advisory Board visits DanStem
On September 4-5, 2018, DanStem Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) visited the Center for two full days to offer scientific and strategic advice on the Center’s developments and future plans. The SAB visits DanStem every second year and provides guidance to secure the Center’s future development and scientific excellence.
The visit opened with a welcome address and introduction to the Faculty by Dean Ulla Wewer, and included:
- Presentations of the research programs and platforms
- An overview of education, training and public engagement
- A tour of the research facilities
- Discussions with Executive Director Henrik Semb and Dean Ulla Wewer, the Center management, group leaders, PhD students and postdocs
The SAB congratulated the Center on the progress it has made over the past couple of years and will provide a detailed report which will actively contribute to efforts shaping future directions at the Center.
The SAB consists of five internationally recognized and respected professors, experts in basic and translational stem cell and developmental biology:
Professor Kai Simons, Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden (Chair)
Professor Dominique Bonnet, Cancer Research UK, London Research Institute
Professor Margaret Buckingham, Pasteur Institute, Paris and Director of Research CNRS
Professor Michele De Luca, Centre for Regenerative Medicine, University of Modena
Professor Jannet Rossant, Molecular Genetics, Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics, University of Toronto.
