Multiple observations suggest that some Notch signaling components and associated transcription factors could oscillate in the developing mouse pancreas and that these components likely switch to a stable expression pattern associated with cell differentiation at later developmental stages. My project aims to determine the dynamic expression patterns of candidate Notch pathway genes and associated transcription factors emerging in the developing pancreas. Additional aims are to investigate the mechanisms leading to dynamic changes in expression of proteins or protein complexes and how these contribute to cell fate decisions.
